RAJIV GANDHI INSTITUTE OF PETROLEUM TECHNOLOGY
Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) is a training and education establishment that provides technical and management training to the petroleum industry. Its establishment was through the Act of Parliament (RGIPT Act 2007) by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in the Government of India.
The school was formerly open on July 2008 and has since been accorded the eminence of being an ‘institute of National importance’ along the lines of the India Institutes of Technology (IIT). It aims at providing global academic standards, training and research to all learners so that they may be able to satiate the growing demands of the petroleum industry.
In order to supplement its on-campus offering, the Rajiv Gandhi Institute has seen the establishment of constituent off-campus academic centers. The main campus is situated in Jais, Rae Bareli. The institute envisions to serve as the fountainhead for nurturing a world class of “PETROCRATS” who are capable of being future leaders of technology and techno-innovation in the vast field of Petroleum Technology. This is through creating a dynamic state of the art learning and working environment.
