Air condition repair
An air conditioner is a system that is used to alter the quality of air in a surrounding enclosed area either through heat and humidity. It can either make it warm or cooler. There are many kinds of air conditioners in the industry; these include the wall air conditioner, the central air conditioner, the split system air conditioner and the portable air conditioner among many other air conditioners. These are mostly made up of the compressor, the condenser, the evaporator, the expansion valve and the drier or the accumulator. The refrigerant is the liquid used to ferry heat from one component to the other. When it absorbs heat it changes state from liquid to gas and when cooled it changes back to liquid. The compressor pumps the refrigerant across all the other components. In the compressor the refrigerant is compressed until it becomes a hot vapor. The hot gas refrigerant moves from the compressor to the condenser. In the condenser the refrigerant is cooled by a condenser fan and it changes state from gas to liquid. The liquid then moves to the expansion valve where its heat is regulated. Then it moves to the evaporator where it is cooled even further and air is cooled by being blown across the cool refrigerant and it absorbs the heat from the air and changes into a gas.
Ac repairs can consist of recharging and fixing and replacing parts. First the technician will carry out a diagnosis where he will inspect the parts, then he will check the pressure of the system using PSI, then he will do a performance check by checking the outlet temperature and from the pressure readings he will be able to determine what is wrong with the system. Sometimes it can be a leak and leak can be detected using a special dye that is added to the refrigerant and using a special back light the technician will add this mixture to the system and use the light to check for leaks. Leaks are fixed by fixing any holes within the system and filling it with the specified amount of refrigerant. Leaks when not detected early they can become corrosive and damage the compressor which would be costly to repair.
The technician will also get rid of any air in the system that could be affecting pressure readings and interfere with the performance of the system. The technician can also change the old refrigerant to the newer R-134a refrigerant which is environmentally friendly.
For the parts that cannot be fixed the technician will recommend their replacement and if the technician you are using comes from a repair service company he or she may recommend products that they offer such as the pipes, seals, compressors, condensers, evaporators, driers or accumulators, switches, fuses and all the other parts that would need to be replaced. Some service repair companies offer to import the parts that are not available in the country but this is usually an offer made by international companies.
